Zaffron Restaurant Established in 1989, Zaffron is one of Toronto’s first Persian restaurants and a cherished landmark within the Persian community. This low-budget renovation was designed to refresh the space while preserving its nostalgic essence and cultural roots.
We introduced crisp white walls, French-style applied moldings, an updated fireplace, and a reimagined reception area. To bring warmth and intimacy to the expansive layout, we added a small stage for live music—creating a strong focal point. Wall sconces were thoughtfully placed to provide romantic, ambient lighting, replacing the need for harsh overheads.
The color palette was carefully curated: white and black for the exterior, burgundy featured in the logo and branding, and gold accents subtly integrated through lighting fixtures and tabletop details. The result is a refreshed space that feels elegant, soulful, and familiar—a respectful nod to the past with a renewed energy for the future.
